The latest product from Mobilizz, IOX-SAFETY 4 (IS4), has been specifically designed to enhance the safety and efficiency of police fleet operations. With innovative features and cutting-edge technology such as Emergency Mode, IS-4 is set to revolutionize police fleet management, ensuring that every journey is connected and protected for optimal performance. Mobilizz brings the technology, service, and knowledge required to enable your police fleet to be smarter, safer, and more efficient, making sure officers get home safely, every single day.

Mobilizz has established strong partnerships to further enhance its offerings. One notable collaboration is with Geotab, where Mobilizz has worked to deploy the Geotab GO9 device on police vehicles. This partnership has been instrumental in advancing fleet technology and improving the safety and efficiency of police operations.

Question: How old is Mobilize and What are the company's origins?

Answer:

Mobilizz was founded in 1997, evolving into a dedicated telematics provider in 2002. At the time, the term “telematics” wasn’t widely used—most people simply referred to it as GPS tracking or AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location).

Our transition into telematics in 2002 began while developing an ERP solution for a client with a fleet of around 20 trucks. The fleet owner requested GPS tracking for better visibility, prompting us to search for a solution. That search led us to a small company called Geotab, which, at the time, had just four employees. From our very first meeting, we recognized that Geotab had the potential to revolutionize the industry—and we knew we wanted to be part of that journey. In 2002, we officially partnered with Geotab, marking the beginning of our expertise in fleet telematics.

Our expansion into law enforcement began in 2018 with Belleville Police Service (Canada), our first police fleet customer. They initially implemented our solution in approximately 20 patrol vehicles, primarily to collect real-time odometer readings for more precise oil change and maintenance scheduling. Since then, Mobilizz has not only expanded the scope of telematics applications for police fleets but has also grown its law enforcement customer base, which has more than doubled in the past 12 months.

Question: For some police fleet managers and police fleet professionals who may not be familiar with Mobilizz, can you provide a summary of your hardware, software, and services?

Answer:

Mobilizz is a Fleet Technology Provider (FTP), which means we specialize in providing leading-edge solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and performance for police fleets.

Our flagship offering is the Geotab telematics solution, which includes award-winning hardware and a powerful online fleet management interface for real-time vehicle tracking, diagnostics, and fleet optimization. In addition to telematics, we provide a comprehensive suite of fleet solutions, including the following hardware and software:

      • IS-4 for connecting and collecting data on all peripherals on a police vehicle— lights, siren, gun locks—plus an additional K9 or Prisoner Compartment temperature sensor
      • Dash cameras with AI-powered insights for enhanced driver safety and critical incident reporting
      • Battery and solar-powered asset trackers for low-, medium- and high-value equipment monitoring
      • Digital Alerting Software systems to make vehicles and roads safer with vehicle-2-everything (V2X) platforms
      • Fleet maintenance software to reduce downtime and extend vehicle lifespan

Beyond our hardware and software offerings, Mobilizz delivers numerous value-add services, including:

      • Advisory services to help guide agencies to optimize overall fleet operations
      • Custom technology integration and development for tailored solutions that meet unique department needs
      • Ongoing fleet technology management to ensure seamless system performance
      • Custom reporting and analytics for actionable insights that drive efficiency and safety improvements

Every piece of technology and services we offer is carefully curated, extensively tested, and seamlessly integrated to align with our vision: Safer Connected Roads for All.

Question: How have fleet managers' needs changed over the past 5-10 years? What is new in terms of what they are asking for now?

Answer:

Overall, we’ve observed fleet management in law enforcement transform from a behind-the-scenes function into a mission-critical role. As their responsibilities have expanded, so have their expectations from vendors, making adaptability, responsiveness, and innovation more important than ever.

With this newfound recognition and responsibility, the role of the fleet manager has evolved significantly. Their needs have shifted in three major ways:

      • Increased Demand for Data & Insights Fleet managers are no longer just responsible for vehicle maintenance—they now oversee a wealth of real-time data that helps optimize fleet performance. Various departments also now rely heavily on fleet data for decision-making, from budgeting and vehicle health to efficiency and compliance tracking.
      • Seamless Technology Integration Fleet managers need systems that communicate with each other and work together seamlessly, eliminating silos and improving operational efficiency. Integration with broader agency systems, such as dispatch and records management, has become a priority.
      • Rapid, High-Touch Vendor Support Managing multiple platforms and technologies means fleet managers require vendors who can provide immediate, reliable support when issues arise. They now demand real-time, high-touch support with quick response times and proactive service.

Question: What can you tell us about your new product, IOX-SAFETY 4?

Answer:

IOX-SAFETY 4 (IS-4) is a hardware product that we have been working on for a few years and are very excited to bring this to market. We have worked closely with our customers and advisory team to develop true product market fit.

The latest model, IS-4, is a small form factor device that quickly and easily connects to the peripherals in a police vehicle, being master lights, siren, and gun locks. We also added on a K-9 and Prisoner Compartment temperature sensor to address critical in-field concerns. Recognizing that police fleets operate a mix of vehicle makes, models, and control systems, we designed IS-4 to be controller- and vehicle-agnostic—ensuring effortless compatibility regardless of a fleet’s age or configuration.

A key advantage of IS-4 is its direct integration with the Geotab platform, allowing agencies to track the precise location and time of light and siren activation, as well as detailed gun lock usage. The gun lock connection not only logs events but can also trigger instant alerts to Dispatch if a weapon is unlocked while a vehicle is in patrol mode, ensuring real-time situational awareness. Additionally, data can be fed directly into Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, providing Dispatch with a comprehensive operational picture at any given moment and required information for critical incident management.

One of the most significant challenges officers face today is the lack of an audit trail when prisoners claim cabin temperatures were too hot or too cold, claims that have been used in court to challenge arrests on human rights grounds. With IS-4’s temperature monitoring, officers now have indisputable, time-stamped data to validate in-cab conditions remained within acceptable and humane limits, removing this legal vulnerability.

Perhaps the most game-changing feature of IS-4 is its Emergency Upload capability. When a police vehicle’s lights or sirens are activated and the vehicle is in motion, data is transmitted at a second-by-second frequency, instead of every 45–60 seconds (industry standard). This unlocks tremendous potential for integrations with Smart City infrastructure and driver alerting systems like HAAS Alert, by providing real-time hazard notifications to nearby vehicles and pedestrians.

IOX-SAFETY is a revolutionary piece of technology designed specifically for police fleets by delivering total situational awareness, improved dispatching intelligence, greater officer safety, and a complete audit trail for liability protection, compliance, and training purposes.

We are setting a new standard for law enforcement with IOX-SAFETY.

Question: How is Mobilize different from other competitors?

Answer:

Mobilizz is fundamentally different; we are a Fleet Technology Provider (FTP), and it all starts with our specialized knowledge, exceptional service, and broadest selection of the industry’s best technology.

      • Laser-Focused on Public Safety – Mobilizz is dedicated to public safety. We are laser-focused on understanding the unique operational, compliance, and safety needs of police fleets, which means every product and service we offer is strategic and purpose-built for that environment.
      • The Best Telematics Platform, Period – Our primary technology partner, Geotab, has been named the #1 telematics provider globally by ABI Research for four consecutive years. It’s the most trusted, scalable, and secure platform in the market.
      • Exclusive Innovations Like IS-4 – Mobilizz doesn’t just provide technology—we build on it. Our exclusive IS-4 device connects directly to police vehicle peripherals like lights, sirens, gun locks, and K-9 temperature zones. It delivers real-time, second-by-second data to Geotab and CAD systems—a level of integration and situational awareness that none of the other providers offer. This kind of law-enforcement-specific innovation is a direct result of our public safety focus.
      • Hospitality and Service-First Approach – Our “Hospitality and Service First” mentality sets us apart in every interaction. While larger providers often rely on automated systems and generalized support, we offer top-tier, high-touch customer service.
      • Proven Experience & Longevity – Mobilizz has been in the telematics space since 2002—longer than most of our competition. We were one of the earliest adopters of this technology, partnering with Geotab when they were just a staff of four. Our long track record and specialized expertise give us a level of understanding and reliability that greener, newer, more generalized providers simply can’t match.

In short, Mobilizz delivers the broadest and best technology, the most dedicated service, and the deepest expertise—all tailored exclusively for public safety.

Question: What is your greatest strength or competitive point of difference?

Answer:

Our greatest strength lies in our unwavering commitment to a “Hospitality and Service First” approach when working with our customers. We don’t just aim to be a vendor—we strive to be the most trusted and admired partner in every police department we serve. Our team operates with the mindset that exceptional service, responsiveness, and genuine care should be the standard, not the exception. Every interaction, whether it’s a support request, a consultation, or a routine check-in, is handled with the highest level of professionalism, urgency, and attentiveness. Police fleets need reliable partners who don’t just meet expectations but exceed them, time and time again. At Mobilizz, we are not just raising the bar—we are redefining what police departments should expect from their vendors.
